Hog Island is a long sand dune island that separates the Malpeque Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. Recent archeological digs on the island uncovered shell middens (large dumps of discarded shells) that some claim are 10,000 years old and prove that, not only were the Mi’kmaq people here that long ago, but that they were eating Oysters!
