The Malpeque Bay is home to what is arguably, the best oysters in the world. Oysters eat algae, and the Malpeque Bay is large shallow bay that reaches temperatures optimal for the growth of several varieties of algae that oysters just love. Nowadays, Oysters grow on both the seabed and in grow out bags on the surface, and they’re everywhere. Malpeque Oysters are big business here, and the Lennox Island First Nation is right in the center of it.
