LOBSTER

The Mi’kmaq call Prince Edward Island “Epekwitk”, meaning “cradled on the waves” and here on the Thunder Cove beach just outside of the Malpeque Bay on the Atlantic side of PEI, it’s easy to see why. The Mi’kmaq have been thriving here on the island for over 10,000 years, seeking shelter in the rich boreal forest in the winter, and migrating to the shores in the summer, where the ocean provided a surplus of food.
