If you go all the way to the east coast, and then go a little bit further, you’ll find yourself in one of the most raw and ruggedly beautiful parts of Turtle Island. The Mi’kmaq call this place Unama’ki- Land of the Fog. Nowadays, it’s known as Cape Breton Island. Out here where the rocky edges of the continent jut out into the frigid waters of the North Atlantic, only the hardy survive.
